For everyone that's not going home to family or is wandering around at a loose end this yuletide season, we're going to be doing an orphan's christmas up at Eva st.

For those that don't know, it works like this: you drop $5 into me before the 22nd (that's this coming Friday), that night I hit the supermarket with as much money as I have, and buy foods for everyone that's chipped in. About 7.30 or so xmas day, all those that have chipped in are served up a feast.

No rain checks, no exceptions - if you want in, text me (or post here, I turned comments back on for this) with a promise to pay or come up and drop me off the cash - but I need it by the 22nd, or no dice. Everyone's welcome (hell, it's christmas, good will towards men and all that), and if you want to bring your own booze for drinking after the dinner, that's what I'll be doing. =)

Also if anyone has any special requests for food, I usually see what I can do to get it as long as it's nothing outlandish like baby rabbit marinated in duck's tears. So far it's basically a huge roast consisting of ham, potatoes, kumara, pumpkin, chicken (or turkey, depends on funds), probably some form of green vegable, and anything else we can think of. And gravy, of course. Vege option could be provided if we get enough of you.

Got about 4 or 5 people interested so far, but the more we get the more money there is for food, and the more food there'll be. 8 people = $40, and that's a lot of food.

It's been a marathon 7 hour graphics effort involving a pack of cigarettes and a cask of wine, but it was well worth it.

I know we live in the digital age and everything, but it's just still so cool to sit down in the middle of town, whip out a laptop, find an open AP, and start surfing. It's almost like magic, baby...

Article on stuff.co.nz today on irresponsible student behaviour now it's the end of exams. Fair enough. But this quote was in it and got me really pissed off...

By that logic, anyone here who's slept with a girl who's been drunk is a rapist.

Now, while I agree that there's of sleazes that take advantage of drunk people out there, stating that a girl who's had a few to drink is no longer responsible for her actions is downright disgusting, and going on to say this automatically makes men into sex offenders is subscribing to the "all men are rapists by definition that they're men" bullshit level of feminism that I hate. I know too many girls that like to go out, get drunk and fuck to swallow this drivel.

So my filer had some massive problems, video card not working, then two of the controller cards vanished (not failed, vanished from the system, not even BIOS could see them). So I took it apart, dusted it, put it back together, crossed my fingers, and woo! It worked! One disk still failed though. So I cfdisk'ed it, and went to rebuild the array. Hmmm, disk already in use... oh no. OOOooooohshits.

I formatted the wrong fucking disk.

So easy to go from massive jubilation at not having to rebuild everything on it to massive kicking myself in the leg for being such a dumbass and destroying the entire array. And having to rebuild everything on it.

*sigh*
